Painter and printmaker

Rebecca Salter graduated from Bristol Polytechnic then spent two years as a research student at Kyoto City University of Arts, Japan. She combines her main practice in painting with an interest in the history and technique of Japanese woodblock printing. In 2003 she was artist in residence at the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation in Connecticut, USA and in 2011 had a major solo show at Yale Center for British Art.. She has also featured in numerous international solo and group exhibitions. She was elected to the Royal Academy of Arts in December 2014 and in 2017 was elected Keeper of the Royal Academy.
