Untangling DNA Nicholas Jackson, University of Warwick

DNA molecules are long strands with a double helix structure, coiled up inside our cells, but what happens when these strands get tangled or knotted? Dr Nicholas Jackson will look at how mathematicians studying the geometry of knots have helped biologists understand how this coiling and uncoiling process works.
