Come and meet the artists…

In this exciting and visually stimulating programme, students will meet and learn from four leading internationally recognised artists working in different areas. From ceramic art to textiles and photography, this day will provide variety, innovation and the chance to hear how ideas become art. The day will be chaired by Rebecca Wright, Programme Director of Graphic Communication Design at Central Saint Martins.

Grayson Perry will talk about his work and consider how to be creative in an age which embraces both traditional and digital approaches to art.

Martin will talk about his approach as a photographer and students will be able to see for themselves how he uses seduction and humour to comment on the human condition.

Art, life and lettering Rosalind Wyatt, Calligraphy and textile artist

Rosalind Wyatt will bring today three elements of her work – art, life and lettering – and explore what happens when you form a letter. The session will include an exciting live interactive calligraphy artwork demonstration.

About Rosalind Wyatt

Rosalind Wyatt is an artist who initially trained in calligraphy then textiles.  Since graduating from the RCA her practice has developed to include commissions in the fields of design, fashion, and film.

The wonder of the abstract Fiona Rae, Artist

Fiona Rae will talk about her paintings and how she uses ideas and formal techniques to challenge the modern conventions of painting and explore its expressive possibilities.

About Fiona Rae

Fiona Rae was shortlisted for the Turner Prize in 1991 and creates vividly coloured abstract paintings which are engaging, alive and a joy to study. She was elected to the Royal Academy of Arts in 2002 and has exhibited extensively in museums and galleries internationally.
