Paloma Garcia is a Principal Pre-Sales Engineer with a unique blend of technical capability and commercial awareness. She has 8 years’ experience in IT Security, 4 years as a Cloud specialist and most recently supporting the Managed Security Services team at Symantec from a technical perspective. She has two degrees, one is a Telecommunications Engineering Degree from Madrid Polytechnic University and, the other one is a First Class Science Degree from Oxford Brookes University. She was also awarded the institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Prize for the best undergraduate final year telecommunications project in 2009.
Paloma lived in Spain for the majority of her childhood until she decided to travel abroad whilst studying in Madrid. Her first multi-cultural exposure was a few years ago when she attended a private English school in Toronto during her summer holidays and lived with a Jamaican family. Soon after her return to Madrid she started looking for work opportunities outside her country to develop her professional and language skills. She has been living in England since then.
Today, Paloma works for Symantec. She spends the majority of her time talking to customers about security of their systems to ensure their employees are safe but also productive so they are able to do their jobs. Paloma is about to start an MBA at Henley Business School.
