Jonathan Fraser was an undergraduate and PhD student at the University of St Andrews in Scotland (2005-2013). His PhD was supervised by Kenneth Falconer and Lars Olsen and concerned dimension theory and fractal geometry. In July 2013 he moved to the University of Warwick to the position of Research Fellow, under the supervision of Mark Pollicott. In September 2014 he was appointed to his first permanent position as Lecturer in Pure Mathematics at the University of Manchester. His research interests continue to involve fractal geometry, as well as geometric measure theory, ergodic theory and dynamical systems. He has written over 25 original research papers and spoken at many conferences and workshops around the world, including: Shangai, Hong Kong, Helsinki, Paris, Jerusalem, Cornell, Leiden, Warsaw and Tabarz. He is also heavily involved in public outreach and engagement and has been an invited speaker at many such events, including: the Young Researchers in Mathematics Conference (Oxford, 2015), the Birmingham Young Mathematicians Colloquium 2015, The Senior Mathematics Weekend (Lagganlia, 2013-14), Making Maths at Manchester 2015, and the International Science Summer School (St Andrews, 2013).
