John graduated from the University of Bath with a first in Applied Physics then researched Space Plasma Physics at the University of Sussex. He spent twenty years with Northamptonshire Police as Head of Forensic Science then in 2011 joined the University of Leicester. John’s inventions have featured in Time Magazine’s top 50 inventions and BBC Focus Magazine’s inventions ‘most likely to change the world’. In 2011, he was awarded an OBE for services to Forensic science.
