
Actor and Director
James Wallace trained as an actor at Central for three years, and has spent twenty years acting throughout Britain and Ireland, as well as in Canada and the USA. He became involved with Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre 16 years ago, where he has directed 50 plays by Shakespeare’s contemporaries for its Read Not Dead project, as well as acting, teaching and researching. He has also taught on Central’s MA Classical Acting course. He is artistic director of The Dolphin’s Back, which has just staged two plays from the early 1590’s by John Lyly and Christopher Marlowe at the Rose Playhouse on Bankside.
