George W Bernard is Professor of Early Modern History at the University of Southampton and has published widely. He is an expert in the reign of Henry VIII, the English Reformation and Anne Boleyn. He has been Vice-President of the Royal Historical Society, editor of the historical journal English Historical Review and was awarded a British Academy Senior Research Fellowship Award.
