Professor David Stevenson is Stevenson Professor of International History at the London School of Economics.  His research interests focus on international relations in Europe during the 19th and 20th centuries, including the origins, course and impact of the First World War.  He has published many books, including With Our Backs to the Wall: Victory and Defeat in 1918 (2011), 1914 – 1918: the History of the First World War (2004), and Armaments and the Coming of War: Europe, 1904 – 1914 (1996).
