Russia and Revolution

Don’t miss this exceptional day as we delve into the past to explore Russia and Revolution, focusing on the period 1894 – 1964. This inspirational and informative day is specially designed for A-level and IB students and will give them the vital historical contexts needed to excel in their examinations. Enthusiastic year 11 GCSE students studying this option are also welcome to attend. Five world-leading historians with renowned knowledge will challenge, enthuse and entertain, offering a unique opportunity for questions and discussion.

This unrivalled History programme will take place at the Emmanuel Centre in London and topics will range from the collapse of the Russian monarchy and the Revolutions through to communism under Lenin and Stalin, culminating in a session on Khrushchev’s rise to power. We are thrilled to welcome an impressive line-up of expert speakers at this event, including one of the world’s leading historians of this period Professor Dominic Lieven, noted expert and renowned speaker Professor Daniel Beer and historian of Imperial Russia and Modern Europe Dr Julia Leikin, who recently shared a podcast with the comedian David Mitchell.

The day will include an invaluable exam session designed for A-level students of all specifications. Each student will also receive a special booklet containing additional notes, talk overviews and suggested further reading carefully selected by each of our eminent historians.
