Announcing Rachel Whiteread DBE

We are thrilled to announce that British sculptor Rachel Whiteread DBE will be joining our exhilarating Art and Design in Action event in London this autumn.  Rachel Whiteread is one of Britain’s leading contemporary artists and the first woman to win the Turner Prize, in 1993. Her work features sculptures and drawings, everyday settings and objects which are transformed into ghostly replicas that are eerily familiar. One of her many notable works was Monument, made for the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square, and in 2019 she was made a Dame for services to art. She will present a fascinating exploration of the creative process and inspiration behind her rich and evocative works of art, with a fantastic opportunity for students to ask questions.

This inspiring day will also feature Magnum Photographer Martin Parr CBE, master potter Keith Brymer Jones and The Royal Drawing School’s award-winning artist and painter Fraser Scarfe, with an exciting live drawing session.

Don’t miss out on this extraordinarily thrilling line-up!
